Strútur á Mælifellssandi is a mountain hut managed by the Icelandic hiking association Útivist. Built in autumn 2002, it sits between the Álftavatn lakes to the east and Hvanngil/Emstrur to the west, making it an ideal stopover on several highland hiking routes.
